You can see changing exhibitions of contemporary art on relevant social themes in Schloss Biesdorf, often with a focus on the urban sphere. The exhibitions are flanked by art projects with a comparable outlook and the Commission for Art in Public Space has its offices at Schloss Biesdorf. The presentation of artistic heritage with a focus on the art of the GDR is also continued in cooperation with the Kunstarchiv Beeskow.
The experience in the castle is complemented by a permanent exhibition of the history and unique architecture of the building, as well as its reconstruction. The artist Laleh Torabi, acclaimed cultural scientist Alexandra Nehmer and the media scientist Christian Hiller embarked on tracking down the history of the site and reconstructing it with the help of archival material. Past events emerge on walls and illustrate the stories of the castle in black and white - supplemented by media elements.
